Three days. 10 mass shootings. More than 50 victims. US sees worst weekend of 2023.
Over the weekend of February 17-19, there were 10 mass shootings in the US, the most of any weekend so far this year, resulting in 13 deaths and 46 injuries. The shootings occurred in Georgia, Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, Tennessee, Louisiana, and South Carolina. At least 15 of the victims were children and teens. Gun violence experts noted that 10 mass shootings in a single weekend are high for mid-February, with the warmer months typically seeing more gun violence. So far this year, there have been 82 mass shootings, compared to 59 at the same time last year.
