How do you know when it’s safe to exit the room after a lockdown has happened?
1. If your organization has announced a lockdown is over
2. Most of the time there is just a single active shooter. So, if you hear multiple people outside the door saying it is safe to come out then the odds are it's safe to come out.
3. You can ask whoever is on the other side to slide their badge or business card under the door. Then call the number to verify it is the actual person.
4. Call your organization's security person or supervisor.
